We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in Sumner, Washington. In this role, you will play a vital part in overseeing financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with contracts, and managing accounting processes efficiently. Responsibilities:

Administer contracts by reviewing requirements for city business licenses, prevailing wage standards, and certified payroll compliance.

Coordinate and provide certificates of insurance and project bonds to general contractors.

Track and maintain subcontractor agreements, ensuring proper documentation and insurance renewals.

Oversee job setup in specialized construction software and reconcile job costs with purchase orders.

Process monthly contractor billings, monitor retention releases, and track aging accounts receivable reports.

Handle accounts payable and receivable transactions for related entities, including creating invoices and processing payments.

Manage employee housing and hotel reservations for Montana-based staff, ensuring optimal utilization of available resources.

Support onboarding documents for Montana employees as required.

Utilize construction-specific software, Plexxis, alongside QuickBooks for inventory and subsidiary bookkeeping tasks.

The salary range for this position is $65k to $75k. Benefits available with this position includes 100% paid medical, dental and vision; life and disability insurances; participation in the company's 401(k) plan with a 4% match and 10 days of paid vacation, 7 days of paid sick leave and 9 paid holidays per calendar year.

Requirements - Proven experience in project or construction accounting, preferably within the construction industry.

Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

Proficiency in general accounting practices, including account reconciliation and bank reconciliations.

Experience with construction-specific software such as Plexxis or similar platforms.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing contracts and financial documentation.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in English and Spanish, is highly preferred.

Comfortable working 100% on-site in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Knowledge of QuickBooks for light bookkeeping tasks related to inventory and subsidiaries.
