Overview

We are seeking an experienced Plastic Film Extrusion professional to join our team as a Production Lead / Working Supervisor. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who will excel in operating extrusion and bag-making equipment while providing leadership, training, and real-time problem-solving on the production floor.

This position plays a key role in coaching operators, maintaining quality and safety standards, and supporting efficient, consistent production across all shifts. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Equipment

Operate polyethylene film extrusion equipment safely and efficiently

Operate and oversee bag machines and related downstream equipment

Monitor processes, material blends, gauges, and outputs to ensure quality standards are met

Perform start-ups, changeovers, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting

Operate automatic blending systems

Accurately read micrometers, tape measures, and production specifications

Leadership & Training

Serve as a working supervisor, leading by example on the production floor

Train and mentor extrusion and bag machine operators

Reinforce proper operating procedures, quality expectations, and safety protocols

Support new hires and help develop operators as the team grows

Communicate effectively with management regarding issues, improvements, and concerns

Quality, Safety & Standards

Uphold quality control standards and ensure product consistency

Enforce all safety procedures and safe machine operation

Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime

Material Handling & Support

Operate fork trucks, hand carts, and overhead cranes

Operate automatic stretch-wrap machinery

Lift up to 40 lbs. and climb up to 30 feet as required

Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently

Industry experience in plastic film extrusion or plastics blow molding

Leadership mindset with the ability to guide and support others

Excellent time management and decision-making skills

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Reliable transportation

Strong mechanical aptitude; familiarity with PLCs, inspection techniques, and precision measuring instruments

Pre-Employment Requirements
