Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Van Nuys, California. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with strong accounting expertise and a commitment to accuracy. The role involves managing key financial processes and supporting compliance with tax regulations.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and file corporate tax returns in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

Handle sales tax calculations and ensure timely reporting.

Record and review journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.

Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and compliance requirements.

Monitor changes in tax regulations and advise on necessary adjustments.

Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Provide recommendations to improve accounting procedures and efficiency. Requirements - A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Proficiency in corporate tax processes and preparation.

Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting.

Experience with journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Proficient in accounting software and tools.

Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams.
