Job Title: Construction ManagerJob Description

The Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in planning and managing outages, shutdowns, and maintenance work at paper mills and customer sites. This position involves acting as an Owner's Representative rather than a General Contractor. Candidates should have a strong mechanical background with civil or structural experience and knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems. This role requires industrial construction experience and a willingness to travel, with compensation provided for travel expenses.

Responsibilities

Manage or lead safety adherence, ensuring compliance with OSHA and client standards, and personally setting the standard for safety.

Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients.

Write scopes of work and obtain quotes for equipment, materials, and services.

Develop bid packages, lead bid meetings, and evaluate bids.

Manage procurement and construction activities.

Coordinate project safety, timing, and other issues.

Oversee checkout and startup activities.

Manage documents and maintain redline sets when necessary.

Perform or manage QA/QC activities.

Review engineering drawings for constructability or maintenance issues.

Troubleshoot construction problems, involving client or engineering personnel as needed.

Create and/or manage punch lists.

Supervise contractors across all crafts and review their work for compliance with engineering drawings or specifications.

Manage overall project schedule adherence, and develop changes or additions to the schedule as required.

Manage budget adherence.

Demonstrate expertise in construction techniques and maintain basic knowledge across all construction disciplines.

Close out projects in the EGS file system.

Seek opportunities to assist clients and gain additional work for the company at facilities or on projects.

Essential Skills

Experience in construction management and industrial construction.

Mechanical, civil, or structural background with knowledge of electrical and instrumentation.

Proficiency in QA/QC and project management.

Client-facing skills and ability to develop and maintain client relationships.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Established small business experience.

Experience with paper mills.

Ability to work strategically for long-term growth.

Work Environment

This role primarily operates in an office setting, with potential locations including Bruton, AL, Jacksonville, FL, and Dothan, AL (the largest office). The position involves travel to various sites, with mileage, hotel, and per diem expenses covered. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
