C.H. Robinson is looking for an Implementation Project Manager to join our Robinson Managed Solutions (RMS) team. In this role you will be responsible for managing and leading projects and will provide support to others in their area of expertise. Successfully managing projects requires excellent organization, documentation, communication skills as well as the ability to help design innovative solutions when faced with complex issues. This role requires you to align with all relevant stakeholders both internally and externally. You will be directly accountable for achieving targets that relate to the planning, network, and/or procurement sides of the business. Further, to be successful in this role, you should have a working knowledge and experience in Project Management and will continue to build knowledge of organization processes and customers.
This is a hybrid position based in our Chicago, IL location.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage projects within a project-based delivery model
Understand key business drivers and uses this knowledge to accomplish project work
Maintain all project related documentation, including project plans, process flows/VSM's, resource requirements and business cases
Communicate project progress and facilitate project-related meetings to meet deliverables; Escalate quickly as necessary
Lead change management with all stakeholders - internal and external; Lead without authority and be confident and assertive with a willingness to challenge appropriately
Serve as the single point of contact and be accountable for all project related activities & requests
Deliver projects on time and in budget with quality solutions
Offer solutions for improving our tools and processes
Build rapport with project team and customer stakeholders
Anticipate internal and external challenges
Provide informal guidance to new team members
Solve problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents
Track and report project financials (budgeted vs actual) for allocated resource hours and billings
Provide support as necessary to RMS Sales Team
Collaborate with RMS project teams and provide support during "Go-Live"
Successfully transfer knowledge to Operations Teams as documented throughout project lifecycle
Contribute toward development of tools, methodologies, and presentations for RMS Implementation
Ensure compliance to SOC process
Successfully execute the RMS Process Transformation Methodology, including:
Document customer expectations for the RMS
Capture the current processes of the customer
Document the results of the Implementation Survey
Support creation of customer process maps
Document & contribute to the design of Future State
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university
Minimum 2 years of technical project management experience
Six Sigma, Lean, TQM or process improvement experience
Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or Transportation experience
Ability to work flexible hours (some weekend/late hours may be required)
Ability to travel up to 20% (domestically and/or internationally)
Preferred:
Project Management Professional certification preferred
Project management experience, with the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections, and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view
Strong communication skills: strong listener with exceptional facilitation skills and the ability to tell the story and connect to your audience
Ability to organize, design, develop and deliver projects for internal and external audiences at all levels
Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts internally and externally at all levels
Experience working and thriving in a continuous improvement environment
Experience with lean processes and tools such as value stream mapping, A3 project management, visual management, Pareto Analysis, and fishbone diagrams
Experience and comfort in dealing with ambiguity and able to deliver with minimal oversight
Experience working directly with customers
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs

Compensation Range
$81,000.00 - $128,000.00
