The Data Center Monitoring Lead serves as a hands-on NOC-focused lead responsible for real-time monitoring of enterprise data center and network infrastructure to maintain high availability and performance in a 24x7 environment. This role directs a small team of monitoring analysts, ensuring that alerts are triaged, incidents are escalated appropriately, and service levels are consistently met across the client environment.?
The position leverages enterprise monitoring platforms and standardized runbooks to detect anomalies across servers, network devices, and facility infrastructure and trigger rapid incident response and change activities. The lead also refines monitoring thresholds, updates procedures, and collaborates with infrastructure and security teams to enhance resilience, compliance, and operational efficiency in highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day NOC monitoring operations, ensuring timely detection, triage, and escalation of events impacting enterprise data center, network, and facility infrastructure in a 24x7 environment.?
Utilize enterprise monitoring and event management tools to interpret alerts, logs, and performance metrics and convert them into actionable incident tickets with clear escalation paths.?
Design, tune, and maintain monitoring rules, thresholds, and dashboards that minimize noise while ensuring rapid detection of service-impacting conditions across systems and networks.?
Coordinate shift handoffs, on-call rotations, and standardized incident and change procedures to maintain consistent operations and adherence to service levels.?
Develop, document, and maintain operational runbooks, standard operating procedures, and post-incident reviews to support repeatable and compliant NOC operations.?
Collaborate with infrastructure, facilities, and security teams to assess event impact, support incident containment, and align monitoring practices with security and compliance expectations.?
Provide mentoring and day-to-day guidance to NOC analysts, promoting continuous improvement in monitoring quality, incident handling, and communication with stakeholders.?
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience with a focus on network operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting.?
4-7 years of experience in network or systems operations, network monitoring, or related NOC environment roles supporting enterprise infrastructure.?
Demonstrated hands-on experience with network management or monitoring tools (for example, Cisco, Juniper, SolarWinds, or similar platforms) in an operational support setting.?
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.?
Ability to document incidents, changes, and resolutions accurately and follow established procedures for incident, problem, and change management.?
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust investigation, as required for work in a federal IT environment.?
Preferred Qualifications
Industry certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or comparable network operations credentials demonstrating structured knowledge of enterprise networking.??
Experience working in a 24x7 NOC or similar operational environment following ITIL-style incident, problem, and change management practices.??
Prior experience leading or mentoring NOC analysts or serving as a senior point of escalation for network or infrastructure incidents.?
Exposure to security monitoring and correlation of infrastructure alerts with security tools to support coordinated incident response.??

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience.
