This position serves our partners at Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB). MNIT MMB supports critical business operations for the State of Minnesota, including enterprise human resources and payroll, state employee insurance, and benefits administration. The team also provides the technical expertise necessary to manage the state budget and provide economic forecasts to policymakers.
As a Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) Information Systems. This position is responsible for assisting with the enhancement, maintenance, and daily operation of MMB systems, while providing responsive first-level technical support to end users. You will serve as a primary resource for addressing help desk issues and tickets, including those reported by email or other communication channels, diagnosing and resolving routine system problems, and escalating complex cases when necessary. In addition, you will provide technical guidance and assistance to other state agencies using MMB systems, manage user access requests, and document support activities to improve service delivery. The role also involves monitoring system performance, identifying recurring issues, and collaborating with team members to implement long-term solutions that enhance reliability and user experience.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 540 Cedar St., St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of IT related experience with Linux and Windows systems administration, including tasks such as user account management, system configuration, patching, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and maintaining accurate documentation of system changes and procedures.
Experience must include:
Managing and resolving tickets and incidents using ticket systems, email, and various communication channels
Clear technical documentations, accurately log outages, and coordinate with multiple teams to ensure timely resolution and communication during system incidents
Windows and/or Linux operating systems
Understanding computer systems concepts and the application of systems analysis techniques to evaluate, maintain, and improve information systems
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience administering Oracle PeopleSoft environments, including web, batch, and application servers
Proficiency in managing Broadcom Appworx for scheduled batch processing
Strong troubleshooting skills for both production and non-production system issues
Ability to develop and debug scripts for system administration, automation, and process optimization
Utilized Linux command-line tools (e.g., grep, awk, sed, top, ps, netstat, df, du) to monitor system performance, analyze logs, and manage processes
Background in providing technical support to customers
Experience in software installation, configuration, and maintenance
