Special Education Teacher Mod/Sev

We're seeking passionate and dedicated Moderate/Severe Special Education Teachers to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse learning, emotional, physical, and developmental needs. Under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, you'll play a critical role in designing individualized programs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and helping students build the skills they need for academic and life success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with parents and the SPED team

Provide specialized instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities across K-12

Design and deliver lessons that parallel the general education curriculum when appropriate

Partner with families, administrators, social workers, and related service providers to support each student's holistic development

Prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized, supportive learning environment

Serve as the primary coordinator for IEP implementation with general education staff

Monitor and document student progress; participate in IEP review meetings

Maintain accurate and timely student records in compliance with district and state requirements

Mentor and support paraprofessionals and instructional aides

Support students in building life skills, transition planning, and independence

Assess academic and functional skills and track progress over time

Communicate regularly with families and staff to maintain strong, positive relationships

Adhere to district policies, professional practice standards, and student confidentiality (including HIPAA where applicable)
