Senior Facilities Specialist The Senior Facilities Specialist supports the execution of the company's facilities strategy by managing the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and improvement of depot facilities. Working under the direction of the Director of Facilities, this role assists with planning, building, relocating, expanding, and maintaining industrial facilities while ensuring safe, efficient, and well-organized depot environments. This position focuses on operational execution-solving facility-related issues, implementing standards, coordinating vendors, and supporting depot leaders-while also contributing to longer-term planning, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives led by the Director of Facilities. Location and Travel This is a remote position with about 75% travel (3 out of 4 weeks per month) to our depots across the country. The ideal candidate will be located within reasonable distance to a major airport. Compensation The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000 annually, plus a 15% bonus opportunity. Please note that the base salary will vary based on geographic location, market conditions, and the candidate's experience. Key Responsibilities Facilities Operations, Safety & Continuous Improvement Execute facility standards and best practices to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient depot operations. Identify and address day-to-day facility issues related to space utilization, layout, workflow, and safety. Support safety compliance efforts, ensuring facilities meet regulatory requirements and internal policies. Apply lean and continuous improvement principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and standardize operations across depots. Conduct facility walk-throughs and inspections to identify improvement opportunities and corrective actions. Depot & Warehouse Support Partner with depot leadership to support material handling, inventory flow, and space organization. Assist in maintaining office, depot, and warehouse layouts that support efficient daily operations. Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety audits (e.g., HACCP, EcoSure), coordinating inspections and follow-up actions as needed. Help depot teams implement and sustain operational and facility standards. Project Execution & Capital Support Support the Director of Facilities in executing capital projects, including relocations, expansions, renovations, and equipment installations. Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, providing regular updates and forecasts. Assist with capital planning and cost control by monitoring expenditures and identifying opportunities for optimization. Communication & Change Management Support communication efforts related to facility projects, moves, and operational changes. Help prepare depot leaders and teams for new layouts, processes, and workflows. Coordinate training and documentation to support adoption of new facility standards. Proactively identify and help address change-related challenges to minimize operational disruption. Cross-Functional & Vendor Coordination Work closely with Operations, Finance, Procurement, and other internal partners to align facility execution with business needs. Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Escalate risks, issues, and improvement opportunities to the Director of Facilities with recommended solutions. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business, Engineering, Real Estate, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5-7+ years of experience supporting industrial facilities, warehouse operations, or depot environments. Working knowledge of safety standards, facility operations, and space planning in industrial settings. Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience supporting facility projects, relocations, or operational changes. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with ERP systems and facility-related data tracking. Experience with lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to work hands-on in operational environments while supporting strategic initiatives.
