Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Design for Manufacturing

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience to join our team in Lubbock, TX. This role will support the Manufacturing Engineering team and collaborate closely with R&D staff to improve processes, design fixtures, and enhance product assembly tools. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, proactive individual contributor with a proven track record in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

Provide design engineering support for manufacturing operations in Lubbock.

Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to improve fixtures, tools, and assembly processes.

Participate in process improvement initiatives and assist with administrative tasks related to design engineering.

Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to optimize product designs for efficient production.

Develop and refine fixture designs to support assembly operations.

Work onsite to ensure timely communication and effective collaboration with local teams.

Occasionally travel to another location quarterly for meetings and training; initial 2-week visit to learn products and processes.

Engage with R&D staff to address design questions and support product development.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

10+ years of design support experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Pro-E, Inventor).

Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing principles.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Willingness to travel occasionally.

Work Environment

The position is based onsite at a manufacturing facility in Lubbock, TX, with occasional travel required to another location for meetings and training. An initial two-week visit to another location will be necessary to learn about products and processes. The role offers a dynamic environment with exposure to world-class processes and equipment. Enjoy three weeks of PTO and holidays, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative team setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lubbock, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
