Warehouse Worker/Floater Driver

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Worker/Driver works with the warehouse manager, supervisors, and other drivers to ensure that orders are picked efficiently and accurately. Warehouse workers are responsible for picking and receiving products using a First In, First Out (FIFO) method. Occasionally, warehouse workers may be asked to drive company vehicles and make deliveries. When performing this driving duty, they will change positions on the clock and receive higher pay for this activity. All warehouse workers are also responsible for maintaining the facility's cleanliness. Their duties include unloading containers, receiving products, and ensuring that items are properly stored in the building.

Essential Functions

Accurately picks customer orders for shipping, ensuring correct items and quantities.

Prepares pallets for shipping by consolidating merchandise in an organized manner.

Places merchandise according to customer requests when feasible and reasonable.

Works with the Managers and Supervisors to schedule loads, safeguard inventory, and ensure safe delivery of products to customers.

Oversees the general condition and maintenance of equipment and vehicles, documenting any damage, wear, or mechanical issues.

Required Education and Experience:

At least one year of previous experience in warehouse environments.

Working knowledge of warehouse processes.

Effective time management and strong teamwork skills.

Prior warehouse experience, preferably in a food distribution environment.

Valid VI drivers license - with a preference for working with trucks with air brakes

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and stoop, and occasionally kneel or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
