Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer, leading the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities and AI-driven applications. This role involves full lifecycle ownership of software solutions, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance, while applying cloud-native principles to enhance system resilience and agility. The position requires collaboration across teams to translate complex business needs into technical requirements, drive engineering excellence, and mentor peers. The successful candidate will influence architectural decisions, promote continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with strategic priorities to support Walmart's technology goals.
What you'll do...
Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
Design and review system architecture to ensure quality, scalability, and alignment with project goals.
Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components to enhance automation and intelligence.
Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements.
Continuously improve processes, tools, and code quality through data-driven practices and innovation.
What you'll bring:
Proven expertise in full stack software development using Java, JavaScript, React.js, and Spring Framework.
Strong knowledge of SQL databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, and RESTful API design and implementation.
Experience applying cloud-native architecture principles such as microservices, containers, and automation for scalable solutions.
Demonstrated ability to lead software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
Skilled in software architecture, object-oriented programming, and building resilient, modular, and maintainable systems.
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and driving engineering excellence through mentorship and best practices.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
