Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or closely related discipline.

Three years' experience managing multiple capital improvement design and construction projects from inception to completion, including new construction and total or partial renovation of entire buildings systems and infrastructures.

Three years' experience managing multiple major mechanical (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, fire alarm and sprinkler infrastructure repair or replacement construction projects.

Three years' experience managing facility energy conservation projects and knowledge or utility consumption and cost analysis for electricity, water, wastewater, and natural gas systems.

Well developed oral, written, analytical, organizational and prioritization skills. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assess agency infrastructures and prioritize capital project needs for approximately thirty major correctional facilities and twenty-five other agency facilities located across Georgia.

Develop capital project construction program needs and establish and manage budgets for design and construction.

Procure and administer engineering services contracts for agency design and construction projects.

Manage various @types of construction contracts for multiple capital improvement projects simultaneously. - Coordinate involvement and contribution of multiple agency divisions and departments during the design and construction process.

Comments/ Notes: - This position is based out of GDC headquarters in Lies Hall at State Offices South at Tift College in Forsyth, GA. - Job duties require statewide travel to manage construction projects within correctional facilities. Limited overnight travel may be required, but most are day trips.
