This position serves as the Predatory Offender Registration (POR) Supervisor and is responsible for managing the overall and day-to-day operations of the Predatory Offender Registration Program at the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). This includes supervising POR program staff and overseeing program activities to ensure consistent, accurate, and compliant registration processes. The position also serves as a key resource to criminal justice professionals, the legislature, registrants, and the public regarding registration laws, requirements, policies, procedures, and the impact of legislative changes.

The Department of Public Safety is unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment. DPS does not participate in E-Verify.

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience coordinating or administering a complex program in a law enforcement, criminal justice and/or legal field

Experience to include all of the following:

Supervisory or lead work experience

Knowledge and experience working in the Predatory Offender Registration/Predatory Crimes field

Developing and conducting training for adult learners and giving presentation in large group settings

Demonstrated organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills

Ability to handle multiple and competing priorities in an effective manner

Advanced written, oral and presentation skills

Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, legal or related field.

Advanced Degree.

Experience reading and interpreting statutes.

Experience with legal processes (Prosecution, Lawsuits, Appeals).

Experience with grant writing.

Knowledge of the legislative process; including preparing budget proposals.

Knowledge of criminal justice databases.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others, and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
