EDRs supported the Authorizing department in support of their mission. The Authorizing department cultivates innovative, high-quality learning opportunities and provides Texas families with the necessary information to access these options. The aim is to support more students in finding high-quality, best-fit schools. TEA assists LEAs in creating diverse options, including charter and virtual/hybrid schools, through start-up and replication grants, accelerator programs, and incubation supports. It establishes authorizing best practices across Texas through multiple technical assistance pathways and ensures the portfolio of opportunities for Texas families is of high quality through evaluation, monitoring, and oversight.The Systems Analyst for Educator Savings Account Data plays a critical role in providing usable, useful, and timely data required for the execution of the Educator Savings Account program. Reporting to the Director for Educator Data, Research and Strategy and#8211; Authorizing team, this person uses SAS, SQL, PowerBi, Excel, Smartsheets, Visual Basic, and other tools to ensure strong data collection practices and transparent communication of data with internal and external stakeholders. This analyst leverages data expertise to build requirements and prioritize improvements in collaboration with key intra-TEA teams to construct and continuously improve the relevant data infrastructure. This professional designs and executes quality assurance processes to ensure accurate and repeatable result. In addition, this expert various software tools to provide timely communication of data related to ESAs and other initiatives of the Authorizing department. The person makes use of Smartsheet and other specialized TEA systems to manage their own project load. This professional works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates. ESA Data Coordination: Design, implement, update, document, and standardize processes related to Education Savings Account data to meet statutory and technical requirements; this includes writing and revising SQL queries and SAS Programs, using Visual Basic, Excel, and Citrix Sharefile to efficiently share data with external stakeholders, and Microsoft Word to document requirements and technical processes; manages work independently with minimal oversight.2. ESA Data Transmission: Develop, update, and test protocols for transmission of ESA data, including creation and documentation of protocols and tests, monitor and report on transmission health for all EDRS Authorizing data products, including those using PowerBI Data Gateways and Smartsheet Data Shuttle; collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high quality data transmission.3. ESA Data Infrastructure: Develop, implement, document, and improve data infrastructure to support the efficient reception, storage, packaging, and transmission of ESA-related data, including SharePoint, AWS, ShareFile, and SmartSheets; leveraging feedback to calibrate and improve the system.4. Quality Assurance: Conducts quality review of data sets and other analytical products created or received by the EDRS - Authorizing unit, acting on feedback from other team members to systematically improve data and visualization products.
