2026 Oatey Summer Internship Program - The Oatey Intern Experience

Interested in an internship with challenging projects, high visibility, professional networking, development, and fun?

Oatey is currently seeking college students for the summer of 2026 to join our award-winning program: The Oatey Intern Experience. Oatey offers a 12-week summer internship that will expose you to meaningful work and exceed your expectations. You will be a part of a diverse, collaborative team environment yet experience your own personal and individual growth. Our interns deliver excellence through high engagement and performance, which is why we often hire them post-graduation*.

What we're looking for...

The Oatey Intern Experience supports our growing organization by attracting talented students to develop them into future leaders. It is unique with one-on-one mentorship, developmental feedback and coaching, lunch series, engaging networking events and weekly forums. You will work closely with experts to develop your skills and gain valuable insight in your chosen career field. Additionally, you will have exposure to all leadership levels of Oatey. Lastly, you will have a great time networking with other interns and forge lasting relationships.

Oatey Co. is a privately held global corporation that manufactures and distributes products for plumbing professionals and consumers. The company is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio and has manufacturing and distribution facilities located in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and China. Mechanical Engineering Intern Position Responsibilities:

Assist Mechanical engineers with the preparation of project planning and documentation.

Support continuous improvement projects

Participate in product design projects including preparation of project forms and documentation, design specification and implementation.

Assists the senior design engineers in the provision of technical support to sales, manufacturing, purchasing, quality and customer service.

Use computer aided drafting systems to prepare drawings and documentation related to specific engineering projects.

Create solid computer models to predict material behavior in injection molds and other machines.

Create bills of materials, material specifications and processes specific to a project.

Work with cross functional teams in the development of new products.

Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful...

Education and Certification: Enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program with completion of at least four (4) semesters.

CAD Software - Solid Modeling in Solidworks

Strong ability to understand and help modify existing mechanical designs and products.

Excellent analysis skills.

Experience working with Excel and other Microsoft applications.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated high initiative.

Eager to work in both production and office environments

Good team member and comfortable participating in small groups

Qualifications that will set you apart...

Finite Element Analysis preferred.

Affinity and experience with the water infrastructure industry preferred.

Compensation Range for the Position:

$20.00 USD Hourly
