Description & Requirements
Bloomberg's CTO Office is the future-looking technical and product arm of Bloomberg L.P. We envision, design, and proto@type the next generation of infrastructure, hardware, and applications that power the Bloomberg Terminal and beyond. Our work spans AI and ML platforms, cloud infrastructure, open-source stewardship, and generative AI innovation.
For over a decade, Bloomberg has been at the forefront of applying AI, ML, and NLP to financial intelligence, powering products in sentiment analysis, classification, document understanding, recommendation, and generative AI. Behind these innovations lies a vast ecosystem of data and compute platforms. We are now building new cloud-native capabilities to accelerate AI development across the company and enable the next generation of intelligent products.
What's In It For You
We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to define and execute the strategy for Bloomberg's AI Data Discovery & Governance Platform, a cloud-native foundation for AI data management and lifecycle visibility.
You will design and deliver modern data capabilities purpose-built for AI, focused on making data discoverable, accessible, and trackable from curation and training through evaluation and inference.
Your mission is to connect Bloomberg's rich data ecosystem to our AI compute environment in the cloud. This includes linking dataset registries, feature platforms, and evaluation datasets to training pipelines, notebooks, and inference systems. The platform you help build will power data discovery, governance, and transparency across Bloomberg's AI community, enabling faster innovation and greater trust in AI data.
Why This Matters
This platform will serve as the backbone of Bloomberg's AI data strategy, ensuring that teams can efficiently develop and operate AI systems with clarity, traceability, and compliance. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and data platform teams across the company to build capabilities that extend Bloomberg's existing strengths while introducing new systems optimized for AI in the cloud.
Your impact will span the entire AI lifecycle, helping data scientists and engineers discover, understand, and manage AI data with the same rigor and reliability that define Bloomberg's broader data ecosystem.
We'll trust you to
Define and own the vision for Bloomberg's AI Data Discovery & Governance Platform, built for AI data workflows in the cloud.
Design for the AI lifecycle by building APIs and interfaces that make datasets easy to find, version, and use across training, evaluation, and inference.
Develop governance capabilities that ensure responsible use of AI data, with lineage, compliance, and auditing built in from the start.
Partner with engineering to deliver scalable systems for metadata management, access control, and lifecycle tracking.
Collaborate across Bloomberg's AI ecosystem to integrate data and compute capabilities that support experimentation and production deployment.
Shape the developer experience by defining metadata models, access patterns, and discovery tools that make AI data workflows intuitive.
Drive the roadmap for how Bloomberg builds, governs, and scales AI data in the cloud, aligning technology direction with business priorities.
You'll Need to Have
5+ years of experience in technical product management, ideally within AI/ML platforms, data infrastructure, or developer platforms.
Hands-on experience building or scaling AI data systems, feature stores, data catalogs, or MLOps infrastructure.
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, Kubernetes, and modern data platform technologies.
A strong understanding of AI development workflows, from experimentation to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, research, and platform teams to deliver technical products at scale.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate a technical vision and influence across diverse teams.
We'd Love to See
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
Experience with LLMs, generative AI, or evaluation dataset frameworks.
Experience designing cloud-based data architectures or managing hybrid workloads.
Familiarity with data governance, catalogs, or metadata management systems.
Contributions to or experience with open-source data and AI infrastructure projects.
Why Join Us
You will play a pivotal role in shaping Bloomberg's AI data future by building the platform that enables discoverability, governance, and lifecycle insight across all AI initiatives. This is an opportunity to help define how Bloomberg's vast data resources are harnessed for AI responsibly, efficiently, and at global scale.
You will work alongside world-class engineers, researchers, and product leaders, driving an ambitious agenda to make AI at Bloomberg faster, safer, and more impactful.
