Know your Right to Work.Job Description GPI seeks a Traffic Management Operator in Westbury, NY, who will be responsible for the day-to-day responsibilities of the Nassau County Traffic Management Center (TMC). The Nassau County Traffic Management Center (TMC) is a 24-hour operations center that controls over 1,000 traffic signals throughout Nassau County and monitors over 125 traffic cameras. The TMC Operator on duty monitors traffic cameras on a video wall and adjusts traffic signal timing in response to roadway incidents. Operations personnel will also be tasked with answering the phones, providing inter-agency coordination, organizing planned or unplanned traffic-related incidents, reacting to roadway incidents and vehicle congestion by providing information via social media and roadside electronic message signs for motorists, monitoring emergency services activity, coordinating response to incidents and fielding civilian complaints. Other tasks may include other administrative tasks such as preparing reports, attending to FOIL requests, updating database information, or preparing packages for shipping.The position has 12-hour shifts that follow the Panama Schedule. Changes will occur at 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM daily. Every other weekend off. Candidates must have a flexible schedule.
