Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking a Systems Engineer in Maryland Heights, MO and/or Hazelwood, MO to support future franchise programs.
This role involves strategic and tactical preparation for future air combat. You will advance mission planning software development, integration, and test efforts supporting the fielding of systems critical to our national defense. Advanced mission planning is a sophisticated process that employs detailed analysis and cutting-edge technologies to develop strategies for accomplishing complex objectives. This includes comprehensive planning, resource allocation, and the creation of contingency plans to ensure mission success. Our advanced planning solutions leverage AI, machine learning, and real-time data analysis to anticipate and adapt to dynamic operational conditions. These innovations will fundamentally transform how the Department of Defense conducts mission planning for the next 30 years, enhancing both strategic foresight and tactical execution.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage requirements, tracking, and verification of system requirements and design specifications
Support system integration, verification, and validation activities
Develop and maintain system engineering models, documentation, and modifications to key stakeholders
Develop, document, and maintain architectures, requirements, interfaces, designs, and algorithms for the program
Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Help maintain configuration management and version control of system artifacts
Assist in identifying and resolving system-level issues
Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's Degree
Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance
Deep understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle: requirements analysis, system design, integration, verification, validation, and maintenance
Proficiency with systems modeling and simulation tools such as SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, DOORS, or Enterprise Architect
Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., IBM Rational DOORS)
Knowledge of networking, hardware, software, and embedded systems depending on the domain
Strong knowledge with software development processes and tools, including Agile and DevOps practices
Familiarity with Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
Ability to perform system integration and testing, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing
Understanding of configuration management and version control systems
Experience with risk management, reliability engineering, and quality assurance
Knowledge of industry standards relevant to the field (e.g., ISO 15288, MIL-STD-499, IEEE standards)
Basic understanding of systems engineering lifecycle and principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and priorities
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash) are a plus
Experience with modeling tools such as SysML or UML
Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) concepts

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualification, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary base pay range $107,000 - $144,400
