Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems, components, and equipment. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and products using CAD software and engineering tools.

Perform calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate designs and ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and performance standards.

Produce technical drawings, specifications, repair procedures, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.

Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to support production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Conduct proto@type testing, collect data, and evaluate product performance.

Research new materials, methods, and technologies to enhance product performance and efficiency.

Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company and industry standards.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

5-10 years of mechanical design experience.

Experience in machine design, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Proficiency in CAD software such as CREO, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.

Project management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in SolidWorks.

Experience in engineering and project management.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment

This is an office-based role with casual dress code and involves approximately 10% travel to job sites. The team consists of four project managers, and you will report to the engineering manager. The position offers a competitive package that includes vacation and holiday benefits, as well as a salaried position with potential overtime.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
