Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced, hands on, Accounting Manager to join in the greater Chicopee, Massachusetts area. This is a contract position, ideal for someone with a strong background in financial management and process optimization. The role will involve ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency across various financial processes, accounting operations and optimization.

Responsibilities:

Review the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting.

Oversee the general ledger and maintain adherence to accounting standards.

Coordinate and support financial statement audits, providing necessary documentation and responses.

Perform account reconciliations to ensure consistency and accuracy across financial records.

Prepare and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial data.

Lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Improve accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.

Implement process improvements to optimize workflows and reduce redundancies.

Utilize activity-based costing methodologies to refine financial analysis and reporting.

Work with Viewpoint Vista software to manage and improve financial systems.

Other administrative tasks and responsibilites as needed to allow cross training with existing team members

Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close and general ledger management.

Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and compliance requirements.

Expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.

Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement projects and implement changes effectively.

Familiarity with activity-based costing and its application in financial analysis.

Proficiency in using Viewpoint Vista or similar accounting software.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Solid communication abilities to collaborate with teams and external auditors.
