Work Unit|Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories
Faculty and staff at the CSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories ( VDL ) are among the nation's finest in their fields of expertise and offer comprehensive diagnostic services. The mission of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory ( VDL ) is to provide timely, accurate and pertinent animal disease diagnostic services and educational outreach to veterinarians, animal industries and animal interests. The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory will strive to meet the goals the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the University through research to develop new approaches to disease identification, investigation, prevention and through education of professional veterinary medical, graduate, and post-doctoral students.

From greeting visitors and answering calls to connecting customers with the right lab services, you'll play a key role in supporting our mission of advancing animal and public health. This position will greet the public on the phone and in person, for the diagnostic laboratory. The incumbent will answer questions about what specimens to submit, tests we perform, and read or fax/e-mail results to customer.
Incumbent must direct clients to appropriate area of the lab (on the phone and in person), perform data entry of submission information into the billing/records system, invoice customers for services provided, and perform various duties and tasks as assigned to support laboratory staff and faculty.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; Colorado State University Diagnostic Laboratories will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

This position will assist with telephone reception (shared team duty).
Guidance is sought as necessary and available references are thoroughly understood to ensure questions are answered accurately.
Customers are directed to laboratory sections, staff, and/or faculty as necessary and transfers are successful.
Calls are recorded on the Contact Log.
In-person customers are greeted and assisted with their needs.
This position will process payments for customers providing credit card information via telephone call or in-person transaction.
PayConex application will be used to perform these transactions.
Questions regarding balance due, requests for statement/invoice copies, and/or contact information updates are managed appropriately.
