Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Manager to join our team in Urbana, Illinois. This is a long-term contract opportunity designed for an individual with a strong accounting background and a hands-on approach. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial processes.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Perform month-end close procedures, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accuracy of financial data.

Support financial statement audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

Troubleshoot and resolve accounting and finance-related issues as they arise.

Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve workflow.

Assist with account reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and complete.

Utilize accounting software to manage and analyze financial data effectively.

Provide hands-on support in various accounting tasks as needed. Requirements - A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Expertise in month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Strong knowledge of general ledger management and financial reporting.

Experience with financial statement audits and preparation of supporting documentation.

Advanced proficiency with accounting software and related tools.

Ability to identify and resolve accounting issues effectively.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

A hands-on, proactive approach to managing accounting functions.
