HIM Specialist - Healthcare Documentation & Records

About the Role

As an HIM Specialist, you'll play a vital role in maintaining accurate patient records, ensuring compliance, and supporting clinical teams with timely documentation. ? What You'll Do

Review, manage, and process medical records and healthcare documentation

Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient information in electronic health record (EHR) systems

Respond to requests for medical records from patients, providers, and third parties

Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards

Assist with scanning, indexing, and organizing physical and digital records

Support audits and reporting by preparing documentation and verifying data integrity

Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve documentation discrepancies

Perform general administrative tasks including faxing, emailing, and data entry

Skills You Bring

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and manage repetitive tasks efficiently

Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation (preferred)

Excellent written and verbal communication

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems

Reliable attendance and a commitment to accuracy

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.50/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
