Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a meticulous and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a part-time contract basis in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. This role involves handling essential accounts payable duties, maintaining financial records, and occasionally assisting with payroll processing. Responsibilities:

Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments accurately using Tyler Munis software.

Maintain detailed and accurate records of accounts payable transactions in adherence to municipal accounting standards.

Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, ensuring all necessary approvals and documentation are obtained.

Prepare and execute weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers in a timely manner.

Support month-end and year-end closing processes by performing assigned tasks.

Act as a backup for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines when required.

Assist the Finance Department with administrative tasks, reporting, and other duties as needed. Requirements - Demonstrated experience with Tyler Munis software or a background in government/municipal accounting is required.

Strong expertise in accounts payable processes and familiarity with payroll functions.

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in financial transactions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing issues.
