Job Description
Title: Financial Operations and Pricing Lead Location: Colorado Springs, CO (HQ) Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Role Overview
The Financial Operations and Pricing Lead will serve as a key member of Maytag Aircraft's Finance team, responsible for driving financial performance across our global portfolio of government and commercial contracts. This role combines hands-on P&L management with forward-looking pricing strategy and program finance leadership. The individual will partner closely with the CFO, VP of Operations, Program Managers, and Business Development teams to ensure profitable growth, disciplined execution, and compliance with government contracting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & P&L Management
Own financial planning, analysis, and reporting for assigned contracts and business lines; forecast and manage direct and indirect contract costs, revenue, profitability, and cash.
Monitor monthly/quarterly P&L results, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions. Work with the Operations team to identify and implement program/site efficiencies.
Develop program/contract forecasts and implement performance measures to help operations team monitor and analyze weekly labor, direct costs, and indirect costs.
Partner with Operations to ensure accurate project-level cost tracking, billing, and financial compliance.
Pricing & Proposal Leadership
Lead pricing strategy for competitive proposals, contract modifications, and REAs (Requests for Equitable Adjustment).
Build pricing models (FFP, CPFF, T&M) that balance competitiveness with profitability.
Collaborate with Business Development and Capture teams to shape win themes with strong financial underpinnings.
Support compliance with FAR/DFARS and Cost Accounting Standards in pricing and cost proposals.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Serve as financial liaison to VP of Operations and extended operations team, ensuring they understand P&L accountability and have the tools to proactively manage financials.
Partner with HR/Operations on wage determinations, benefits costing, and labor category structures.
Provide decision support to executive leadership on contract bids, M&A opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
Implement process improvements for financial reporting, cost control, and proposal pricing.
Develop dashboards, KPIs, and decision tools for leadership visibility into financial performance.
Contribute to building a high-performance finance culture rooted in accuracy, accountability, and agility.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
7+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, government pricing, and program finance.
Strong understanding of P&L ownership, government contracting (FAR/DFARS), and cost/pricing models.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced Excel/financial modeling skills.
Preferred:
Experience in the Defense, Aerospace, or Government Services sector.
Knowledge of DLA Energy, USACE, or DoD contracting structures.
MBA, CPA, or CFA designation.
Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or corporate growth initiatives.
Sage Intacct proficiency.
