Description

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with a strong background in nonprofit accounting and hands-on knowledge of NetSuite software to join our client's dynamic team. This role provides an opportunity to drive financial operations and support a mission-focused organization.

Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local nonprofit financial regulations, including preparation of 990 forms and other filings.

Monitor and track grant funding, restricted funds, and donor contributions, while maintaining appropriate financial documentation.

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.

Utilize NetSuite software to maintain financial records, enable detailed reporting, and streamline processes.

Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses, supporting strategic decision-making for leadership teams.

Collaborate with program managers and teams on budgeting, expense tracking, and grant reporting needs.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.

Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit organization.

Proficiency in NetSuite software is required; experience in nonprofit-specific financial systems is a strong advantage.

Familiarity with nonprofit accounting standards (e.g., GAAP for nonprofits), grant management, and restricted fund accounting.

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration.
