Generally, works under limited supervision, but within general guidelines, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision-making process.
Specific Job Summary
The Manager, Global Compensation Operations will provide subject matter expertise and operations support to the Global Compensation team as a member of the Compensation COE. Under the leadership of the Director, Global Compensation Operations, this role provides operational process and analytical support for global compensation activities related to administration, systems, analysis, and project execution. Acts as an expert for the programs being administered and makes judgments regarding compliance with the programs' terms and parameters. Provides consultation, guidance and support to business partners, managers, and associates regarding cyclical compensation processes, data and plans. This role collaborates with Centers of Expertise, Divisions, Brands, Change Management, Communications, Training, Information Technology, Legal, Finance and 3rd Party/BPO provider Partners to support process management for this area. Interprets, explains and provides input into the development of administrative procedures/processes surrounding the programs and provides technical guidance as necessary. Position will coordinate and manage small to moderate project tasks and will participate and support the completion of milestone tasks for more complex projects. Position
will support Marriott's compensation philosophy and programs/processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies.
Specific Expected Contributions
· Compensation Administration and Operations: Provide expert guidance and support to compensation administration, operations, and processes with minimal supervision, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, efficiency, and effectiveness.
· Training: Provide comprehensive presentations to Global Compensation teams on various compensation setup areas, including structure setup, rate of pay, job code corrections, bonus mappings, eligibilities, overrides, multi-duals, data templates, and issues.
· Intranet Content management: Prepare and submit Intranet Publishing Requests (IPR) and validate published content for Compensation pages, including the set-up and posting of Bonus Plan pages and Bonus Plan Documents
· Compensation Tool Management:
o Update and maintain automated look-up tools, reports, and compensation resources
o Update and maintain reports needed for Pay Transparency
· Compensation Data Processing:
o Submit, validate, and troubleshoot compensation data uploads to Human Capital Management system
o Deliver presentations and support on submission process and validations
· Access/Role Management:
o Monitor role-provisioning requests and approve or decline handoff to third-party service providers.
o Complete required access audit for Compensation roles
· Testing Cycle Management:
o Create and/or edit scenarios for lower environment testing and/or production environment checkout.
o Execute lower environment scenario testing and/or production environment checkout using existing scenario scripts.
o Update testing progress/analytics, including dashboards.
· Bonus Plan Documents Tool: Execute the creation of PDF documents and post them to MGS.
· Stakeholder Support: Provide issue resolution support for stakeholders.
· Process Documentation: Ensure that administration, operations, and processes comply with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
· Escalation Management: Escalate issues to manager/leadership for guidance or resolution as appropriate.
· Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required.
Specific Candidate Profile
· Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resource, Finance, Competitive Analysis, or Sales Operations roles.
· Strong MS Office skills including Word and Excel are required; Access proficiency is beneficial.
· Power Query proficiency beneficial
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proven experience performing moderate to complex analyses, interpreting, effectively summarizing, developing and presenting recommendations/findings.
· Effective communication skills (written and verbal), appropriate for working directly with HR COE and business stakeholders.
· Ability to articulate, prioritize, and communicate complex issues and risks.
· Demonstrated ability to prioritize work tasks in accordance with goals and to make effective use of time in an environment with multiple deadlines and goals.
· Demonstrated experience interacting effectively as a team member or consultant with all levels of associates.
· Ability to perform independently under limited supervision.
· Experience in planning, leading, and coordinating small to moderate projects.
Education
· BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Management or comparable field of study
The pay range for this position is $29.47 to $48.56 per hour.
