My client is seeking an Entry-Level Cash Accountant to join their team at their Reston, VA HQ. n this critical role, you'll gain hands-on experience in maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting business operations-all while contributing to the financial success of our organization. What You'll Do:

Prepare and post daily journal entries to ensure accurate recording of cash activity.

Reconcile positive pay information between bank records and company systems.

Process and reconcile cash receipts, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Maintain and oversee the organization's check stock.

Handle the escheatment of uncashed checks in compliance with applicable regulations.

Assist with monthly accounting close procedures, ensuring financial records are accurate and complete.

Respond to inquiries from Treasury and collaborate with other business areas to address financial questions.

Contribute to other tasks and projects as needed.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Strong foundation in accounting concepts and principles, including journal entries and bank reconciliations.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong technical skills.

Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail-your work drives the financial integrity of the organization.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.

General ledger accounting experience is a plus.
