The Assistant Director of Finance will manage the day-to-day accounting operations at Lower Columbia College. This includes overseeing key functions like revenue and expenditure analysis, funds disbursement, and risk management. You will ensure the accurate operation of the College's automated ctcLink system, handling funds management accounting, general ledger reconciliations, cash management, and annual financial statement preparation in compliance with all regulations. This position also supervises two full-time accounting staff.

Who you are: We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial reporting, analysis, and budget management, along with an unwavering commitment to compliance.

You must be a proven leader with the ability to manage and mentor staff to ensure all financial operations are accurate and efficient. Your expertise in problem-solving and interpersonal communication will be critical at LCC. We seek a professional who is not only highly organized and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting, but also someone who takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity.

About the team! Our Finance team consists of 12 full-time employees who are dedicated to supporting the mission of Lower Columbia College. We collaborate with faculty and staff across campus to ensure responsible financial management and to provide the resources needed for student success.

The Assistant Director position is exempt under FLSA. The typical schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. The Assistant Director works primarily on campus with occasional flexibility to work remotely. This position reports to the Director of Finance. We typically hire closer to the lower to middle range of the salary. Offers are made based on applicant's qualifications relative to the job, internal pay equity, and any other relevant factors.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

Manage accounting activities for the College consistent with the requirements of the Washington State Office of Financial Management (OFM), the federal government, and the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC);

Supervise, direct, and monitor the work of designated college accounting staff, including assignment of tasks; providing guidance and professional development opportunities; establishing deadlines, work schedules, performance expectations; conducting performance evaluations; and cross-training of staff;

Develop and recommend risk management processes and perform internal audits as directed by the Director and Finance or the Vice President for Administrative Services;

Assist the Director of Finance with updating and implementing the College's internal accounting policies, procedures, policy interpretation, compliance issues, and
