Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations, contributing to both routine accounting tasks and high-level reporting processes. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the Controller and make a meaningful impact within a non-profit organization.

Responsibilities:

Manage and update the general ledger chart of accounts to align with accounting standards and reporting requirements, including those specific to restricted funding.

Perform monthly and year-end reconciliations for balance sheet accounts such as cash, prepaid expenses, investments, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and other liabilities.

Prepare and execute journal entries to ensure accurate monthly and annual financial reporting.

Monitor cash flow and implement effective controls to safeguard financial resources.

Oversee payment processing activities, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

Collaborate with the Controller to support financial audits and address any discrepancies.

Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for decision-making.

Assist in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Support the preparation of financial statements and related documentation for internal and external reporting. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit or similar environment.

Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Proficiency in managing general ledger activities and ensuring accurate financial documentation.

Experience with bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow.

Familiarity with accounting standards and compliance requirements.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
