Job Description
AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, New York October 15-17. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026.
The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm , where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You'll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.
On Thursday and Friday, interviews will take place at our New York office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer - Remediation within our NY/NJ Remediation practice based out of New York, NY .
This position involves 60% field and 40% office work. It is targeted towards an individual interested in resident engineer, construction management, and design engineer roles, and involves investigation engineering, engineering design, and construction management of projects associated with environmental remediation. Construction and field work will include site inspections and sampling, contractor oversight, construction administration and management, including shop drawing review, and responding to contractor questions. Design work may include sampling plans, excavation and restoration design, environmental permitting, erosion and sediment control design, preparation of construction plans, cost estimates, and constructability reviews.
This position is expected to begin Spring/Summer 2026.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
Builds analytic and design skills.
Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
May work closely with the design team and creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Assists the Project Management team with management administration on a small to moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a larger, more complex project, following set guidelines for tasks.
Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed.
Field work in locations as appropriate (approximately 60%).
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field + 0 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Valid U.S. Driver's License
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience related to Civil Engineering field work and study.
Experience in construction or remediation projects preferred.
EIT, EI or ability to obtain prior to starting the position.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Project preferred.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in New York, NY. The selected candidate must be available to work in New York, NY on a scheduled basis.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $73,000.00 - $83,200.00.
