The Surface Based Effector Production Department is searching for a Principal Electrical Engineer for the Product Team Lead role on a complex missile program that is critical for our national defense and has near unlimited growth potential.
This leadership role drives technical and programmatic excellence as part of the program team. The Product Team Lead will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplined development team, providing leadership and establishing a vision to inspire the team to exceed program objectives. The position requires a strong engineering development background and collaboration across internal teams. This role also involves close collaboration with the other Team Leads and Chief Engineering leadership to address programmatic concerns, ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and technical objectives, and deliver compliant solutions to customers while fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
What You Will Do:
Be responsible for the technical integrity of the electrical aspects of the Fire Control System and associated hardware, including the Technical Data Package (TDP) development, validation, and integration
Manage cost and schedule of work and team execution, including Cost Account Management (CAM) responsibilities and Estimate at Complete (EAC) support
Manage the technical risk for the hardware, including Risk and Opportunity Management
Lead and/or provide technical oversight of failure investigations, including assigning Failure Investigation Team members
Submit Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) to request funding for corrective action implementation and support Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Control Board (CCB)
Identify and manage staffing needs for the Product Team
Recognize team accomplishments through achievement awards
Work environment is primarily in an office, but may include labs, field work, or a combination
Work with suppliers and customers for procuring and demonstrating capabilities in lab or field environments
Assignments may require minimal travel
Collaboration with both Functional and Program higher level management
Collaboration with Customer and Suppliers
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience
Experience in the following areas is required:
Experience as CAM using Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Leading a cross-functional team and collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines relating to design, procurement, and/or production of weapon integration efforts
Experience with cross-functional team members and following-up to verify work is being performed to ensure schedule deadlines are met
Experience with developing technical data packages, presentations, recommendations, and/or written communications to explain changes and/or designs to the chief engineer (CE), program management and/or customer teams on a technical level
Experience with conducting and/or overseeing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
Qualifications We Prefer:
Bachelor's in science in Electrical Engineering
Product and subassembly design, integration, and production support
Analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support
Deconvolving high level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architectures
Experience in sub-systems, systems engineering, requirements development, requirement validation, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Design, Test Integration (including Test Solutions), and/or Supplier Management on an effector based product
Prior experience as a technical leader on a complex subsystem, ideally during Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) Phase
Creating system of systems design documentation including, for example, a Hardware Configuration Item (HWCI) specification, for developed hardware and allocating test methodology to meet each requirement
Developing test designs and test procedures for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related engineering degree
Systems engineering thought process with analytical skills background
Highly self-motivated individual that is able to perform multidiscipline work
Electrical subsystems typically contain antennas, analog RF circuit cards, digital circuit cards, and configurable logic so the ideal candidate will have a background in designing and troubleshooting of one or more of these components. Ideal candidates will also have experience in project leadership, systems engineering and architecture and have a desire to grow to a higher level
Able to network / influence outside of the department with other design and production support organizations, program leadership, other engineering disciplines and Manufacturing organizations
Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with peers, suppliers, management, and customers in a production environment
Proven experience in balancing engineering process discipline and innovation for rapid development and program success
Experience working with missiles or similar systems
Ability to effectively work multiple tasks and priorities
Practical experience in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including production and program planning
Experience in developing proposals
Knowledge and/or experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
Experience leading large, complex trade studies
Experience developing and materializing conceptual designs and integrating them into a system of systems

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
