TERM LIMITED POSITION: This position is term limited with an anticipated end date of approximately one year from the date of hire. This position is eligible for State employee benefits and may be extended as the situation warrants. At OIT, we service our agency partners by supporting their technical and project needs. This role will support OeHI, the Office of eHealth Innovation. You will support Project Managers leading a variety of health tech and innovation projects all tied to the Colorado Health IT Roadmap (https://oehi.colorado.gov/2021-colorado-health-it-roadmap) goals.
As our new Project Coordinator you will provide program and project support by independently updating project plans, reconciling budgets, coordinating deliverables, and ensuring project artifacts are gathered and stored. Our ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, a problem-solving mindset, team-centered mindset, be a forward thinker, have strong communication skills to keep internal teams updated and communicate with clients, practice continuous project improvement, and ensure that the project is on track.
Some of the day to day opportunities include:
Providing project management support to ensure overall success of initiatives by independently updating project implementation plans including project business benefit, scope, objectives, schedule, deliverables, budget and success criteria that support business goals in collaboration with management and project sponsors.
Leading coordination of critical meetings, including developing agendas, capturing meeting minutes and action items, and working with the project team to complete follow up items.
Providing necessary reporting to ensure effective project communication occurs and is available.
Determining content of status reports from the project team and creating them, troubleshooting problem areas and delivering overall progress reports.
Maintaining relationships across OIT, OeHI, State agencies, customers and vendors to develop an understanding of core business functions and align projects with overall business objectives.
Participating in project post-mortem assessments and suggesting improvements in process or procedure.
Managing issues and proactively escalating critical issues for immediate resolution.
TRAVEL: Please note, these roles may require occasional travel within the state to areas outside of your assigned geographic location. These instances will be arranged well in advance to allow for logistical planning.
HYBRID LOCATION: An employee has a set schedule where they work a combination of 3-4 days at a remote location and 1-2 days in the State Workplace. There will be additional ad-hoc in-person requirements such as OeHI all hands meetings, commissioner meetings, vendor site visits etc. that occur around 1-2X monthly. The employee may have an assigned workspace or use options such as hoteling to reserve their in-office days.

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While most salary offers are made within the posted range, occasionally an offer is made below or above the posted range based upon this salary analysis.
This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/or education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows:
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in coordinating and administering phases of an information technology project.
Substitutions:
Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.
Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications.
If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare and health IT
Experience working in a government environment
Relevant IT certifications (e.g. Scrum, ITIL, ADKAR, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
Agile and Scrum methodology experience
Knowledge of software development methodologies, system implementation and integration and/or a technical discipline
Strong quality and customer service orientation
Effective working in a matrix organization
Conditions of Employment:
OIT candidates and employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state entity locations where they might be required to perform work.
A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre-employment drug test.
This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.
This position may require on-call duties as needed by the position.
Supplemental Information
If this posting indicates "remote from anywhere in CO" in the title, periodic reporting to the primary state work location designated for the position is required. All remote work must be performed in Colorado.
While candidates from out of state will be considered for this role, the candidate selected for the position must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of their new position. A reasonable timeframe for relocation will be established on an individual basis, while considering business needs, and determining a start date.
