Job Title: Construction Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced commercial project estimator to join our full-service general contracting team. The role involves working on projects ranging from $200k to $50 million, including ground-up constructions and renovations for medical offices, grocery stores, churches, retail buildings like hardware stores, car dealerships, and banks. The estimator will support current projects, manage change orders, and perform conceptual estimates for projects in the bidding stage without architectural drawings or blueprints. A hybrid or remote working arrangement is available for a self-starter with relevant experience. Candidates living within commuting distance to Midland with 3+ years of experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Support current projects and manage change orders.

Perform conceptual estimates for projects without architectural drawings.

Engage in bid stage activities for various commercial projects.

Provide detailed, budget, and unit price estimates.

Collaborate with the team on takeoffs, bid evaluations, and blueprint interpretations.

Essential Skills

8+ years of experience estimating commercial projects ranging from $200k to $50 million.

Proficiency in reading and bidding from new build blueprints and change order requests.

Strong understanding of conceptual bidding and construction estimating.

Experience with commercial construction management and preconstruction activities.

Proficient in using software such as Bluebeam, Procore, and Accubid.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to perform conceptual bids for commercial projects.

Strong and confident personality.

Experience with general contracting, not subcontracting.

Work Environment

This is a salaried position, typically working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30/5 PM, with some flexibility to meet project demands. The role involves occasional overnight travel and pre-bid meetings on-site 1-2 times a week. Projects are located in the Midland area, Alpena, Sault St., Metro Detroit, and Grand Rapids. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Midland, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
