The Application Support Student Worker will help manage support requests for portfolio, program, and project management software. This role provides hands-on experience in IT support, software applications, and project management. We are looking for a detail-oriented student with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 600 N. Robert St. Saint Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Student Worker Eligibility** - To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker Paraprofessional Senior you must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate educational program or plan to enroll within three months. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as a student worker, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. If you are enrolled at a credit-granting institution you must carry at least six semester/nine quarter credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, you must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load will be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.
Currently enrolled in an accredited college program as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
Academic programs can include Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Analytics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Experience must include:
Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Technical aptitude demonstrated through course work, academic projects, or work experience involving software application or troubleshooting.
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with database design or data management methods.
Familiarity with Python and PowerApps.
Awareness of Agile or Project Management framework.
Experience or course work with scripting for automation and data tasks.
Experience or course work in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Experience or course work in Power BI or other data visualization tools.
