Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Allegan, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for managing key financial processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting monthly and annual financial reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial health and integrity of our organization.

Responsibilities:

Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes to maintain accurate financial records.

Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure account balances align with financial statements.

Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded promptly and correctly.

Prepare and post journal entries as part of the regular accounting cycle.

Assist with month-end closing activities, ensuring all deadlines are met and reports are accurate.

Utilize SAP and other financial systems to manage accounting tasks and generate reports.

Monitor job costing to ensure project expenses are accurately tracked and allocated.

Support audits by providing requested documentation and resolving discrepancies as needed.

Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

Proficiency in SAP or similar financial software.

Strong understanding of bank reconciliations and journal entry preparation.

Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
