SUMMARY
The Harness Process Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and improvement of wire harness manufacturing, ensuring efficient and high-quality production. The Harness Process Engineer will be required to lead and support New Product Introduction from inception to production and create manufacturing work instructions aligned with customer drawing and specification requirements. Harness Process Engineering is responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts and projects based on SQDCI KPI's. In addition, the Process Engineer utilizes engineering principles, processes, and methods to meet customer-based quality standards in the most cost-effective manner. Resolve technical problems that would significantly affect schedule in support of the manufacturing and product development plans.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods for cable & wire harness manufacturing cells
Ensuring all manufacturing processes adhere to quality standards, including IPC, J-STD, and NASA standards
Collect and analyze data from manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement efforts
Create and maintain process FMEAs and Control Plans
Identify optimal process parameters
Evaluate and implement new equipment and technology for capability
Lead and participate in internal & external defect RCCA
Oversee capital projects for cost improvement through increasing volume and reducing scrap
Facilitate changes in equipment layout, product flow, and procedures
Use of 2D & 3D software to design and develop tooling and form boards to support production activities
Observe safety rules and promote plant safety initiatives
Development of new products/processes
Accumulate technical data to determine equipment performance specifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot manufacturing issues
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Ability to build and work within teams
Ability to work within a cross-functional environment to gain consensus and cooperation
Ability to read, understand, and translate technical drawing packets consisting of wire schematics, specifications, and manufacturing standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
3 years related experience.
Must also have 12 months of demonstrated ability with each of the following: cable & wire harness manufacturing, support of existing and implementation of new manufacturing processes involving the production of complex assemblies, creating and maintaining process FMEAs and Control Plans and overseeing capital projects for cost improvement through increasing volume and reducing scrap.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Experience with lean and cellular based manufacturing preferred
Experience with IPC, J-STD, and NASA standards
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
Proficient with ACAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar design software
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Frequently required to stand and walk
Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS
This is an air-conditioned facility with many pieces of equipment that produce heat. The following are potential items encountered: fumes, dust, noise, hazardous/toxic chemicals. Appropriate training is provided and documented based on job placement that complies with OSHA and EPA regulations.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toed shoes and clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses are required for the job.
