Job Description:
Deliver insights to help our clients turn data into action as a Senior Data Scientist at GDIT. Your work will provide transformative solutions to our clients' big-data obstacles and help advance the mission.
HOW A SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Perform scientific work associated with the analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets.
Use large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization.
Use models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.
Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, efficiencies, process improvements, and other business outcomes.
Mine and analyze data using a variety of data tools.
Build and implement models using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations.
Develop processes and machine learning-based tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
Drive business results with data-based insights.
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot challenges
Communicate analytic findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders, verbally and through written reports
Provide support in capturing and defining any requirements for the deliverables/ solutions for the projects under this contract.
Provide expertise and implementation support for projects in data science, predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in data science, or related field
Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience as described in the "How You Will Make an Impact" section above.
Logistic regression
Well-versed in statistical theory
Generalized estimating equations
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Proven experience developing machine learning models and engineering features using Python, PySpark, SQL, R, Databricks, Machine learning with regularization models (especially LASSO), and other packages in Amazon SageMaker AI
Able to create complex queries in SQL for testing and data analysis
Experience developing ML pipelines and with ML Operations
Experience with Model Tuning and Governance
Experience with the following tools: MLFlow, GitHub, Docker
Must be able to work with engineering teams to source the right data, evaluate system performance
Problem-solving attitude
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAD:
Data Science experience with healthcare and/or claims analysis
Statistics background and knowledge of queuing theory
SAS
LOCATION: Remote
CLEARANCE: requires ability to pass CMS background check and meet the residency requirement for having resided in the US at least (3) three out of the last (5) five years.

The likely salary range for this position is $107,950 - $146,050. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
