SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs all processing of criminal cases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other related duties shall be assigned, as needed.

30% Time stamps and files criminal transcripts from municipal and county courts; prepares files for Prosecutor's office for grand jury; prepares paperwork for criminal sentencing (e.g. indictments and warrants to arrest or convey defendants/criminal, arraignment list, post pleadings and criminal costs).

20% Maintains and posts criminal docket (e.g. motions, notices, writs, issues Order of Sales, Executions, and Expungements, etc.).

20% Answers telephones and waits on customers at the counter, which includes filing new cases, motions and subpoenas, and collecting court costs. Performs work for other employees, when needed.

20% Prepares and transmits various reports via mail and/or by electronic means (e.g. FBI and BCI reports, monthly reports, Public Defender's Office on convicted indigents).

10%* Conducts record checks for government offices; Prosecuting Attorney's Office, law enforcement agencies, etc.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six (6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Individual should be computer literate and have keyboard skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend specific and detailed instructions, short but sometimes complicated correspondence, and memorandums. Ability to write specific and detailed correspondence. Ability to effectively present sometimes complicated information in one-on-one and small situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Also refers to Ohio Revised Code laws and procedures on many occasions,

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:** Ability to apply logical and common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but sometimes involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
