If you're driven by technical excellence and thrive on collaboration and complex challenges, this is your opportunity to lead groundbreaking projects that support national security and advanced aviation systems.Salary & ScheduleSalary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 (based on experience and qualifications)Employment Type: Direct Hire Hybrid roleWhat You'll Be DoingAs a Senior Design Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, overseeing the full design lifecycle of high-precision machined components and brazed assemblies for aerospace and defense applications. Your work will impact product performance, manufacturability, and long-term reliability.Key Responsibilities:- Lead design initiatives for machined parts and brazed assemblies using advanced CAD tools- Develop high-efficiency, lightweight, and durable designs that meet rigorous aerospace and defense standards- Define and optimize joint designs for high-temperature brazing-considering materials, geometry, and manufacturing tolerances- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, quality compliance, and cost efficiency- Conduct FEA simulations and tolerance stack-up analyses to validate product performance- Maintain detailed engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and test plans- Participate in and lead design reviews, continuous improvement efforts, and root cause investigations- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across departments- Collaborate directly with suppliers and customers to clarify design intent and performance expectations- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including AS9100 and ITAR standardsWhy You'll Want This JobThis is more than just a job-it's a leadership role in a company where engineering excellence is the core of the mission. This direct-hire opportunity includes a comprehensive benefits package that supports your long-term career and well-being-details to be shared upon hire!What You'll Need to Succeed- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field- 7+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or defense industries- Advanced proficiency in designing for precision machining, tight tolerances, and high-temp brazed joints- Strong knowledge of GD&T, CNC machining processes, and design optimization principles- Proficiency with 3D CAD platforms (Creo) and FEA tools- Familiarity with industry standards (AS9100, ITAR) and customer-specific requirements- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams- Experience with vacuum or dip brazing, thermal stress analysis, and heat transfer modeling is a plus- Background in DoD contracting or work with major primes such as Lockheed Martin or Raytheon preferred- Understanding of FAI (First Article Inspection) and manufacturing process validationNote: - Must be U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder - "Must be able to meet ITAR requirements, including US citizenship to be considered for this role."
