Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City's leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.
Program Description: TOP Opportunities is a program of Goddard Riverside that provides vocational training and job placement to prepare underemployed adults for success in the workplace by using the evidence-based practice of supported employment to help program participants to achieve their goals. Goddard Riverside Green Keepers, is a social enterprise business established in 1995, created to provide TOPOP participants with paid on-the-job training in horticulture, and street sanitation services while providing beautification services to local associations, developers and private individuals. Once individuals begin working, they receive ongoing job-retention support and on-site job coaching, as necessary. We work with adults with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring barriers to employment, including long term homelessness, substance use, learning disabilities and justice histories.
Position Summary: Manage the operations and daily administration of the Green Keepers social enterprise business including supervision of staff, business operations and developing new customers and projects to provide job training and employment opportunities for the traditionally underemployed.
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:00am-4:00pm, Occasional Weekend or Evening Hours)
Salary Range: $66,300 - $70,000
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate's number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Business Administration/Project Management:
Oversee day-to-day business operations for Green Keepers
Manage customer accounts, revenue and expenses.
Create and implement marketing plans.
Consult and evaluate new job proposals; write up contracts and respond to advertised requests for proposals.
Responsible for on-the-job training and on-board new employees
Schedule crews and manage a large part-time payroll; prepare payroll reports.
Order all equipment and supplies for Green Keepers
Prepare business outcome reports and analysis for future operations.
Prepare the business budget and monitor actual profit and loss against budget.
Arrange Nursery deliveries or pick-ups.
Represent Green Keepers at community wide events.
Staff Supervision
Supervise field supervisors and crew leaders.
Facilitate monthly Greenkeepers employee meetings.
Supervise/mentor/train crew leaders.
Staff and schedule projects and jobs
Customer Service/Community Development
Develop and maintain relationships with new customers and maintain ongoing relationships with current customers.
Oversee client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain quality control.
Participate in all community meetings such as Community Board 7, Block Associations, Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene, Business Improvement Districts, The Hort Society, and others.
Introduce and present information on the social enterprise business to outside stakeholders.
Attend conferences related to workforce development in horticulture and community projects.
Serve as a member of the TOP Opportunities Employment Team
Collaborate with TOPOP staff on client participation, training, and job retention.
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, training programs and supervision sessions when necessary
Other duties as required.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required
3-5 years of business and workforce experience.
Clean Driver's license required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Experience working in behavioral health.
Enthusiastic collaborator with a strong belief in rehabilitation and recovery.
Attention to detail; maintain high level of quality assurance.
Excellent customer service skills.
Effective communication and organizational skills
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be:
Able to work in the Microsoft Office Suite, should especially be proficient in Word, Outlook Excel; Quick Books
Able to use or learn to use AWARDS database.
Able to use or learn other electronic databases, programs, and funder-related software as needed, e.g., Intacct Financial software.
Work Environment
Local travel required.
Driving a 12-passenger van required
