About this Job
The Office of Legal Affairs is a statutorily created distinct budgetary office of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Public Safety Services. The Office of Legal Affairs is responsible, in accordance with applicable laws and under the supervision and direction of the Deputy Secretary, for providing legal consultation and representation to the other offices within the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Public Safety Services.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Oversees the legal implementation of strategy related to the Office of State Fire Marshal, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Reviews all litigation and complaints involving the Louisiana Uniform Code Council and the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Board, providing legal analysis and strategic recommendations.
Assists in developing and executing legal strategies for cases involving the Office of State Fire Marshal in coordination with the Deputy General Counsel.
Serves as a legal advisor and assistant to the Deputy General Counsel, supporting litigation management and legal representation of the Office of State Fire Marshal.
Coordinates with internal and external legal teams to prepare legal documents, filings, and responses related to agency litigation.
