How you will make an impact:
The Senior Systems Administrator will be a professional who is part of a larger team, providing Linux and Windows desktop client administration support to real-time operational activities, and mobile application support for special communications requirements. Within the ARMA-Global Fort Walton Beach portfolio, this position supports assigned projects and programs, enabling high priority Special Operations Forces (SOF) missions. You will work with a team of integrated professionals and walk amongst our nation's heroes all dedicated to operational success and achievement of National objectives. Familiarity with the government client's mission is a must as this position supports the delivery of new capabilities on a routine basis.
In this position the Senior Systems Administrator will be exposed to unique systems, technologies, and experiences found nowhere else. The successful candidate will:
Deploy hardware; create, install and maintain DISA STIG compliant server and desktop images
Monitor deployed system performance for servers (Windows/ Linux ), network devices (Cisco/Juniper), and wireless systems (Aruba/ Ubiquiti) in support of the HQ Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) Technology Integration and Support Cooperative (TISC) facility and Special Operation Forces (SOF) customers
Work with the SOF Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) Server deploying and maintaining services and system integrations with the Joint Operations Support Cloud Environment (JOSCE) in support of SOF missions and Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Recovery (HADR) operations
Perform configuration and testing of Mobile Device Management (MDM) system software for end-user Joint Personal Edge Compute Device (JPECD) Specialized Automated Mission Systems Enhanced Situational Awareness (SAMS-ESA) Wearable devices
Use Amazon Machine Images (AMI) and cloning processes to test upgrades before production rollout
Deploy, manage, and monitor VMware vSphere ESXi hosts, virtual machines (VM), sealed templates, and data stores through vCenter in support of the AFSOC Warfighter Worldwide Network (WWN)
Develop and execute tests for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8) desktop images for SOF customer implementations
Work with Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)
Support multiple other Line of Effort teams with deploying RHEL baseline VMs
Assist Network Engineers with Operations, Maintenance and Support of facility Aruba Wi-Fi
Create instructional materials in support of systems use, as needed
Perform disaster backup and recovery tasks
Use scripting to automate recurring tasks
Work heavily with Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems to include Workspace ONE UEM, Watchtower, and the Mobile Content Management (MCM) system
Apply software, firmware, policies, and configuration patches and upgrades to computer and network systems
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network device issues, and coordinated vendors and factory support
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Information Technology discipline, or equivalent technical training, certifications and experience
DoD 8140 Information Assurance certification required (Minimum CompTIA Sec+CE ).
Required Experience:
A minimum of 3 years' experience is directly related to the technical requirements of this position.
Technical Skills:
Technical competence with most of the following is preferred and highly desired
Operating Systems: Linux Debian/Fedora/BSD-based distros (Ubuntu, RHEL 8/9), Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019/2022
Processes: Imaging , Patching, Hardening/STIGs, Disaster Backup & Recovery, PKI, Team Continuity, Change Management
Scripting: PowerShell , Batch, Bash
Networking: Familiarity of Routing and Switching (Juniper/Cisco), Wireless (Aruba/Ubiquiti), pfSense (OpenVPN), RADIUS/802.1x
Servers & Virtualization: VMware (vCenter & ESXi), Veeam, ACAS/Tenable, EVE-NG/PNET, Zabbix, TrueNAS, TestLink, TAK.gov, FreeRADIUS, LAMP, MySQL/PostgreSQL
Software & Tools: iDRAC, VirtualBox/Hyper-V/VMware Workstation, Watchtower (MDM), Clonezilla, iPerf, ClamAV, Office Suites
Equipment Systems: Dell (R600-700/XR4000 Series), Juniper (SRX 380/550/4100, EX2200-4400 Series), CSS ISA VSAT, L3 VSAT.
Security Clearance Level:
Must have active SECRET Clearance to start with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET with SCI eligibility.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Outstanding written and oral communications skills to effectively communicate root cause and resolution to senior leadership
Knowledge with Cloud Platform environment
The ability to work independently as well as in teaming environments.

DoD, Combatant Command (COCOM), Special Operations (SOF), and Air Force experience a plus
Location:
Onsite at the GDIT/ARMA facility in Mary Esther, Florida. Local hybrid work may be authorized.

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
