General Statement
Culinary Services Division (http://www.montana.edu/culinaryservices/) ( CSD ), a division of Auxiliary Services, provides meals and specialty beverages for over 18,000 customers daily and is an integral part of campus life and the overall college experience. CSD proudly provides Montana State University students with not only a repertoire of various cuisines, cooking styles, and flavors, but a comfortable atmosphere to meet friends, study, and simply relax. The division is comprised of 2 residential dining halls, a commissary kitchen, several retail operations including 4 coffee shops, Chick-fil-A, the Union Market and Bobcat Grill, Brick Breeden Fieldhouse and Bobcat Stadium Concessions, Fork in the Road food truck, MSU Catering, Indulge In-House Bakery, and the Farm to Campus Program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working primarily in support of the Commissary Kitchen, the Warehouse Worker is responsible to receive and distribute a high volume of food and related items, special shipments, and cleaning supplies daily.
Performs all related duties to receiving such as: receiving deliveries, checking in, recording receiving temps, stocking daily deliveries, reconciling freight bills or packing lists, appropriate handling of damaged goods etc.
Rotates food products according to expiration dates and sanitation rules.
Shelves all products according to the established inventory system.
Reports up any issues or delays.
Maintains a clean receiving area and properly disposes of pallets and packaging.
Maintains the cleanliness and organization of all storage areas, floors, walls, storage racks and freezers/coolers.
Properly follows sanitation guidelines and handles food in accordance with FDA food codes and as directed by MSU's Registered Sanitarian.
Distributes food and related products regularly to dining hall concepts/areas as required.
May assist in basic food production or basic front of house areas if needed.
Makes delivery runs across campus during the week and is responsible for weekend runs for the open dining hall.
Assists with ordering as needed.
And actively contributes to the team by performing other duties as needed in support of the department's mission.
Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Progressive experience providing excellent customer service to a variety of individuals or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Basic math skills.
Experience taking direction from multiple supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Warehouse experience handling food products and food service related items.
Experience operating warehouse related equipment.
Experience using computers and various software packages.

Must possess a valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and meet all State of Montana requirements to operate State/University vehicles. (If successful candidate possesses a valid out-of-state driver's license, must obtain a valid Montana driver's license within 60 days of hire.)
10 month positions with full benefits throughout all 12 months. Primarily summers off.
Shift is Tuesday-Saturday from 5:30am-2pm. During football season and high catering activity the Saturday shift might vary.
May be asked to work days/evenings, weekends, long hours, consecutive days during busy periods, and occasional holidays as the school and event schedule demands.
Occasional work outside and in inclement weather assisting with special events.
Possess a 4-hour sanitation certification or have the ability to become certified
Must have the ability to understand and communicate in English with adequate proficiency to follow directions from supervisor, read and understand safety guidelines and directions to prevent accidents or injuries from occurring, and communicate effectively with customers (staff, visitors, students) by listening and speaking clearly to them.

Normal warehouse, dock, kitchen, cooler, and freezer environments.
Stationary and/or moving about for long periods of time
Constant use of handles while operating hand trucks and hydraulic jacks.
Frequently moving, transporting, and placing containers/product weighing up to 100lbs
Occasionally moving product up and down stairs
Bending, kneeling, stretching and general moving about while stocking products
Gripping handles on small kitchen utensils and other equipment
Performing repetitive motions related to job duties
Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals
