General Statement
University Human Resources takes pride in and is enthusiastic about supporting the University's mission and strategic plan by providing professional and dedicated leadership, guidance, and administration of classification, recruitment, payroll, benefits, and employee/labor relations to the Montana State University Bozeman campus, Agricultural Experiment Stations, and Extension Service.
The Business Operations Manager for the Human Resources Office oversees the HR Front Desk Associates and student workers while serving as the primary administrative support for the department. Additionally, this role includes providing executive assistant support to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
Acts as the primary contact to coordinate logistics for meetings, and events.
Manages the transactional activities of the HR department, including management of computer equipment, processing of invoices, arrangement of travel, and execution of various administrative responsibilities.
Serves as executive assistant to Chief Human Resources Officer.
Provides administrative support to the Human Resources managers as directed by the Chief Human Resources Officer and/or the management team.
Oversees projects as assigned.
Communication and Digital Management:
Develops and implements internal human resources communications, as well as correspondence with other departments within MSU .
Oversees the maintenance and management of the HR webpage, ensuring that it remains current, accurate, and easy to navigate for users.
Front Desk & Operational Supervision:
Responsible for the Front Desk operations, ensuring a welcoming and efficient first point of contact for all visitors and inquiries.
Supervises Human Resources Front Desk Associates and student employees.
Serves as the building supervisor for 920 Nopper.
Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Experience in human resources or general administration, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Demonstrated proficiency with computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, website content management, and email. Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in drafting professional correspondence, reports, and presentations.
Proven experience in a customer service role, engaging directly with clients, employees, or the public to resolve inquiries and provide support.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated supervisory experience.
Experience with multi-relational databases, specifically within HR, Finance, or Budget modules.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and database management.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a Management-related field.
