This is a high-impact finance role focused on optimizing the financial performance of American Airlines' aircraft parts supply chain. You will serve as the dedicated financial leader for our logistics network, including our central fulfillment centers and aircraft parts distribution channels. This role is responsible for driving cost-efficiency and operational excellence by bridging the gap between physical operations and financial strategy. The ideal candidate will combine rigorous financial and accounting skills with an in-depth understanding of supply chain logistics, inventory management, and process improvement, ideally supported by an industrial engineering background.

This role is a key member of the Finance team, acting as the primary financial partner for the Tech Ops Supply Chain & Logistics division.
You will directly influence the financial strategy for our vast aircraft parts inventory and our complex distribution network that keeps our airline running.
You will have high visibility, presenting analysis and recommendations to senior leadership in both Finance and Tech Ops Supply Chain Operations.
What you'll do
?Develop and manage the annual operating budgets and multi-year financial forecasts for the Supply Chain organization, including fulfillment centers, freight, and inventory holding costs.
Lead in-depth financial analysis of key supply chain activities, including inventory optimization, network efficiency, logistics costs, and supplier performance.
Partner with Tech Operations and IT teams to identify and quantify the financial benefits of process improvement initiatives within our fulfillment centers and distribution network (e.g., automation, workflow optimization, network redesign).
Create and maintain sophisticated financial models to support strategic decisions, such as optimal inventory stocking levels, make-vs-buy analyses for parts, and ROI for new technology or infrastructure.
Perform detailed variance analysis of actual supply chain costs against budget, identifying root causes and presenting actionable insights to operational leaders.
Provide financial oversight for inventory accounting, including the analysis of inventory turns, service levels, and reserves for excess and obsolete stock.
Collaborate closely with leaders in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, and Tech Ops to ensure financial plans are aligned with operational goals.
Prepare and present compelling business cases for capital investments in warehousing, technology, and logistics infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a corporate finance, supply chain finance, or operational finance role.
Demonstrated experience in complex financial modeling, budget vs. actual variance analysis, and multi-year forecasting.
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
MBA, CPA, or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
Experience in supply chain finance for a company with complex, global logistics and significant inventory; aviation/aerospace experience is a strong plus.
Direct financial experience supporting a large-scale warehouse, distribution center, or central fulfillment center.
Background in or strong familiarity with Industrial Engineering principles, process mapping, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Deep understanding of inventory accounting principles (valuation, E&O reserves), logistics cost drivers (freight, duties), and key supply chain metrics (inventory turns, service levels, fill rates).
Proficiency with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power B

Proven ability to translate complex operational concepts (e.g., fulfillment workflows, inventory stocking strategies) into clear financial models and strategic recommendations.
A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify operational inefficiencies and model their financial impact.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical, data-driven approach to complex issues.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across various departments.
