Join our team the Texas A&M College of Nursing as a Program Specialist II - Forensic Interviewer! The Program Specialist II -Adult Forensic Interviewer, under general supervision, coordinates the adult forensic interviewing program, conducts interviews, assists with connecting clients to resources, collaborates with community partners, and testifies in course as needed. This program is housed under the Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, or related field
Two years of experience as a forensic interviewer or social worker at a children's advocacy center or in an adult forensic interviewing program
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be able to work independently and accept feedback on performance for quality improvement
Must be able to work with a variety of people such as clients, families, law enforcement, attorneys, etc
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Must maintain composure in stressful situations
Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak English and Spanish proficiently
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Able to provide and receive confidential information while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
Ability to coordinate scheduling of clients
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, or related field
Working with individuals and communities
Three years of experience as a forensic interviewer at a children's advocacy center or in an adult forensic interviewing program
Licensed social worker in Texas
Previous courtroom and/ or deposition testimony experience
Responsibilities
Program Activities: Conducts forensic interviews with adults who are/or suspected of being victims of sexual or physical assault/abuse or have been witnesses to a violent crime usually during regular office hours, occasionally after hours or weekends. Foster an environment that is sensitive to the client's cognitive, emotional, and psychological state, without asking leading questions. Facilitates the pre/post interview multidisciplinary meeting for each interview conducted. Assess and address ongoing education and technical assistance needs of community partners related to collaborative efforts throughout cases and cross discipline education. Performs job duties in accordance with professional ethics and Center policies and procedures. Facilitates internal and collaborative partner meetings. Coordinates and schedules training with stakeholders. Identifies and provides available resources to clients in their own communities. Ensures clients are scheduled and services are provided in a timely manner. Presents information at conferences related to the project. Communicates with supervisor about activities and any issues or concerns that arise. Participates in regular peer review and supervisory review sessions in which job proficiency is assessed. Stays current on forensic interviewing techniques and research. Pursues professional development in the field of violence, abuse, and neglect. Maintains confidentiality of all information. Provides on-call, after hours, weekends, and holiday coverage as scheduled. Assists with community outreach and awareness activities.
Data Management: Enters all case information into the tracking system for all requested and completed interviews. Develops and presents reports as needed. Coordinates the monitoring and evaluation of the program. Maintains records of services such as relevant history and needs for services. Provides support to the team and other project members in collecting and maintaining necessary documentation. Assists with completion of documents, forms, or reports required by the Center. Ensures requesting agencies receive interview information in a timely manner. Maintains confidentiality of all records, especially interviews.
Courtroom Testimony: Provides courtroom testimony as requested. Consistently responds to subpoenas within 48 hours of receipt. Presents on-time and actively participates in any pre-trial meetings. Provides testimony that is evidence-based, truthful, and ethical. Communicates testimony clearly and succinctly. Wears professional attire appropriate for the situation.
Other: Facilitates training with community partners related to forensic interviewing. Assists with recruiting staff for the program as needed. Provides information to those interested in forensic interviewing at vending table during select conferences and meetings. Present at conferences and other professional meetings on topics related to the program.?
