As our next Senior Electrical Engineering Manager and as a member of Strategic Communications Solutions Engineering (ISSE), you will lead a team of 15+ Electrical Engineers whose charter is to design, develop, test, and deploy mission critical weapon systems for the United States Navy and Air Force. This position reports to the Strategic Communications Solutions Department Manager and will be working closely with value stream leadership, business development and operations. Success in this role is measured through exceptional program performance combined with leading and developing our people and team to support the near-term and long-term business goals and objectives.
This position is for a highly motivated manager to lead a team of 15+ electrical engineers whose charter is to:
Design and develop components and sub-systems
Perform processor board design and backplane design
Perform timing analysis and signal integrity analysis
Apply EMI and signal integrity design techniques and analysis
What You Will Do:
Candidate will lead the engineering team of 15 to 20 engineers using strong interaction, interpersonal, mentoring, and coaching skills
Technical direction - candidate must be able to direct the utilization of advanced principles, theories, and concepts for products and electrical development
Program technical and execution planning - candidate must be able to guide team members on the creation of electrical engineering plans, execution baselines, program execution and staffing plans, and technical risk assessments in support of customer expectations and business objectives
Project management - candidate must be able to remain cognizant of, as well as guide team members on, the management of scope, schedule, and budget for electrical engineering activities; candidate must be well versed in using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) performance measurement; candidate must be able to assign and coordinate staffing
Process management - candidate must be able to guide team members on the utilization of internal engineering processes and provide assurance that the electrical engineering activities are consistent with the requirements for product security, safety, testability, reliability, maintainability, performance, qualification, and certification
Bid and proposal - candidate must be able to lead, review, and provide guidance to team members on bid and proposal activities for pursuits.
Personnel administration - candidate must be able to perform hiring, performance assessment and personnel issue management for a team of technical staff members
What You Will Learn:
Leadership and Management: Develop and refine leadership and project management skills, including hiring, performance assessment, and personnel management, while managing project scope, schedule, and budget in a high-stakes environment
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Enhance collaboration skills by working within integrated agile release train teams, coordinating with Mechanical, Systems, Software, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery
Advanced Systems Integration: Gain experience with integrating complex Systems of Systems, enhancing skills in working with multi-enclave network systems and cutting-edge communication technologies such as VLF, HF, V/UHF, and SATCOM
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Previous experience as an engineering leader, lead electrical engineer, project lead, or IPT lead.
Proven experience interfacing with DoD customers and company senior leadership
Project management experience and/or CAM (Control Account Manager) experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
Direct experience in development of bid and proposal efforts
Experience/knowledge of ground/airborne communications systems, antenna design, and operation (VLF, HF, UHF, V/UHF, or EHF)
Background and/or knowledge in networking, high power constructs, and interface definition

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
