What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors As our experienced Safety Coordinator, you will be instrumental in fostering a proactive safety culture across OHM Advisors. You will directly contribute to the safety and well-being of our 750+ professionals by implementing and managing comprehensive safety programs, ultimately ensuring safer project sites and a healthier work environment that supports our mission of Advancing Communities. Your Responsibilities Cultivating a Proactive Safety Culture: Develop and implement engaging safety awareness campaigns (e.g., toolbox talks, safety moments) to promote a culture of prevention. Lead the annual review and update of the company safety manual to ensure compliance and best practices. Design, deliver, and manage comprehensive safety training programs, leveraging our Learning Management System (LMS) for efficient deployment and tracking. Serve as a key point of contact and provide guidance to Safety Champions across all locations, empowering them to drive local safety initiatives. Travel regularly (up to 40% of time) to build strong relationships with local leadership and staff, fostering a collaborative safety network company wide. Ensuring Compliance and Mitigating Risks: Maintain meticulous safety documentation and records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of office and project sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations. Actively participate in and support thorough investigations of incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Ensure effective and up-to-date safety signage and communication are in place across all locations. Evaluate the effectiveness of safety training through feedback mechanisms, assessments, and key performance indicators. Coordinate the procurement and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) company-wide, working closely with regional contacts. Track and analyze incident reports and safety metrics to identify trends and provide data for bid submissions and internal reporting. Maintain and update the company's internal safety information page, ensuring it is a valuable resource for all employees. Conduct thorough risk assessments of project sites and develop mitigation strategies to prevent accidents and injuries. Requirements Education, Experience & Licensure: Bachelor's degree or better. 1-3 years of experience in a safety position. Technical Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Working knowledge of necessary software products and ability to learn and adapt to new technology and advancements. Well organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities. Ability to work within a team as well as independently with little supervision.
